C = 41.95x + 31.95 = cost where x=number of days

the y or C intercept = $31.95 = the flat fee for insurance charge regardless how many days rented

for a week x =7 days

C(x) = 41.95(7) + 31.95 = 293.65 + 31.95 = $325.60 for a week

another example might be

C(x) = 40x +30 where 30 represents a $30 flat fee for insurance and 40 is the $40 daily charge.
