2x-y=6
y=2x-6, slope =2, the coefficient of x when the equation is solved for y
the perpendicular line has a slope that's the negative inverse. Take 2, change its sign and flip it upside down to get slope = -1/2
y=(-1/2)x + b. solve for b by plugging in the point (2,-2)
-2 = (-1/2(2) + b
b =-2 +1 = -1
y=(-1/2)x -1 is the perpendicular line through the given point (2.-2)
-2=(-1/2)(2) -1 = -1-1=-2
