You can use substitution to solve this problem. We can substitute 3x into the equation for y to determine the value of x first:
5x + 2y = 44
5x + 2(3x) = 44
Now solve by combining like terms and using opposite operations:
5x + 6x = 44
11x= 44
11x/11 = 44/ 11
x = 4
Since y = 3x, then y = 3* 4 = 12
As a coordinate point, the solution will be (4,12)
