3x + 2y = 5, 2y= -3x+5, y = (-3/2)x + 5 the slope = -3/2, any parallel line has the same slope = -3/2, but a different y intercept
y = (-3/2)x + b, where b= y intercept, solve for b by plugging in the point (3,4)
4 = (-3/2)(3) + b
b = 4 + 9/2 = 17/2
y = (-3/2)x + 17/2 is the parallel line in slope intercept form through the given point
