Bradley is 48 years younger than Elizabeth. 6 years ago, Elizabeth's age was 3 times Bradley's age. How old is Bradley now?

Let us assume the age of Elizabeth NOW is E years and the age of Bradly NOW is B years,

E - B = 48 .............(1) the difference between ages

6 years ago, Elizabeth age was = E- 6

and Bradly age was = B - 6

also at that time the relation between their ages was

E-6 = 3 (B - 6 )

E - 6 = 3B - 18

E - 3B = -18 + 6

E - 3B = - 12 ........(2)

Subtract equation 1 from 2

-2B = - 60

B = 30

Substitute the value of B in equation (1),

E -30 = 48

E = 48 + 30

E= 78
