60 quarts of 6% mixed with 20 quarts of 2% to get 80 quarts of 5%
6(60) + 2(20) = 5(80)
360 + 40 = 400
6 is within 1 of 5
2 is within 3 of 5
you need 3 times as much 6% as 2% to get 5%
60 = 3 times 20
Just solve the equation
6X+ 2(80-X) = 5(80)
X= quarts of 6%
80-X = quarts of 2%
(this assumes this is the same question that was posted elsewhere, but which had 2% in it)
