first try graphing the equalities
y= 2x-9 and y= 4x+7. They give the boundaries of the inequalities
y=2x-9 is a line with slope = 2 and y intercept =-9.
y=4x + 7 is a line with slope = 4 and y intercept = 7
they intersect at a point which is the solution of 2x-9= 4x+7 or 2x=-16, x=-8 and y = -25 (-8,-25)
for the first line you want to shade in everything above that line, above & to the left
for the 2nd line you want everything below & to the right of the line
where those 2 shaded areas overlap is the solution to the problem. But include the boundary or the line of the 1st equation/inequality by indicating a solid line, but do not include the 2nd line and indicate that by using a dotted line.
