Find the length of RS is S is the midpoint of RT, RS = 3x - 3 and ST = 2x+6.

Since S is the midpoint, you know the segments on either side of it are equal in length, which means those 2 expressions are equal:

 

3x - 3 = 2x + 6

 

So now just solve for x, then plug the value into each expression. If they are equal, you did it right. Both RS and ST will be that length.
