Slope intercept form of through (2,3) slope 1/2

This is something my daughter is working on in algebra..the slope intercept form is through (2,3) slope =1/2 the 1/2 should be a fraction of 1 over 2 I just don't know how to put that on here in the form of a fraction

slope = 1/2 = m

line through (2,3)

y = mx +b is slope intercept form, with m= slope, b= y intercept

plug the point in to find b

3 = (1/2)(2) + b

b = 3-1 = 2 = intercept

y = x/2 +2 is slope intercept form

or

more expressly

y = (1/2)x +2

the coefficient of the x term = the slope
