Generally, price is the dependent variable on the y axis, and quantity demanded as the independent variable on the x axis. y is a function of x. P is a function of Q.
f(x) = y, f(Q) = P
but a house party's purchases don't affect price. Price is set independently of whatever the one single house party buys. So price is the independent variable and number of pizzas purchased is dependent on the price.
price values are then the domain and number of pizzas is the range. Price would likely vary maybe between $5 per pizza to $15. Number of pizzas at a house party might range from 3 to 30, as the "range"
