Question

Yesterday I made 4 chocolate cupcakes and 10 lemon meringue pies and used 38 eggs. The day before, he made 8 chocolate cupcakes and 6 lemon meringue pies, which used 34 eggs. How many eggs does each dessert require?

8C + 6P =34

8C + 20P = 76

14P = 42

P = 42/14 = 3 eggs for a pie

4C +10(3) = 38

4C = 38 -30 = 8

C =8/4 = 2 eggs for a cupcake
