Steven Elster, Ph.D., Guitar teacher of beginning - advanced
Hello Prospective Guitar Student,
A child, at seven years, whether a boy or girl, is certainly old enough to learn guitar. If they haven’t studied before, they will probably want to begin with basic chords and some folksongs or other music of their choice. Progress will be incremental. Generally, in the beginning, students may not be able to practice more than 10 or 15 minutes a day, lest they develop painful blisters. I currently have a 10-year-old boy and he has been making great progress!
Take care and I hope to meet you,
Steven Elster, PhD.

Guitarist = BA Degree in Music Education + The Ability to Rock!
I once had a five year old girl student that was awesome! She was so focused and learned very quickly. The hardest people to teach are boys in high school whose parents just bought them a new vehicle. Start Now!
