Perimeter question help!

Ms. Ramos wants to put a fringe on the edges of two square-shaped pillows. Each pillow measures 14 inches on each side. She allows an extra 2 inches of fringe on each side for overlap. How many inches of fringe should Ms. Ramos buy?

Ms. Ramos adds 2 inches to each side, so now each side has a length of 16".

The formula for perimeter of a square is 4s or 4 times a side.

16" x 4 = 64".

Since she has 2 pillows, you will need to double the amount of fringe.

64" x 2 = 128"
