Need help with math

avid wants to have at least an 82 average in Math Models this six weeks. He made a 75 and a 96 on the first two tests. What does he need to make on the third test to receive at least an 82 average? *

We have two scores and there will be one more to add before we can find his average, which is the sum of all three scores, divided by the number of exams, 3.

We can make this into an equation:

(75+96+X)/3 => 82 , where X is the third score. We're taking the average of the total points spread over 3 exams, so divide by three. That must be equal to, or greater than the passing value of 82.

171 + X => 246

X => 75

Avid needs a sore of 75, or more.
