A fruit company delivers its fruit in two types of boxes: large and small. A delivery of 2 large boxes and 5 small boxes has a total weight of 67 kilograms. A delivery of 8 large boxes and 3 small boxes has a total weight of 166 kilograms. How much does each type of box weigh?

subtract 2nd from last

20s-3s=17s = 268-166=102

divide by 17

s = 102/17 = 6 kg for small boxes

L = (67-5(6)))/2 =33.5-15 = 18.5 kg for Large boxes

8(18 1/2) + 3(6) = 148 +18 = 166

2(18 1/2) +5(6) = 37 +30 = 67
