since this is an absolute value equation two versions of this equation will be solved which are 2x-4>8 and 2x-4>-8 for the first equation add 4 on both sides then divide by 2 on both sides to get x>6 and for the second equation add 4 then divide by 2 into both sides to get x>-2 then plug in 6 for the first equation to get 2(6)-4>8 which is 8> or equal to 8 which is true then input in -2 for the second equation to get 2(-2)-4>-8 which is -4-4>-8 which is -8> or equal to -8 which is also true making both x>6 and x>-2 the solution for this equation.

I forgot to mention that the solutions x>6 and x>-2 have the intervals x>-2 since x is a value greater than or equal to -2 including 6. sorry about that.01/19/21
