Well simply put your answer is 2 and 1/4 ounces of granola
But how did we get there is the important part
9 ounces of granola we had to begin with , 4 bowls to divide that into
If we represent that as a fraction we're left with 9/4 , "nine fourths" , 9 divided by 4.
We can use 9/4 to represent how much granola is each bowl but it's much cleaner and more appropriate to convert it to a mixed number 2 1/4 , "two and one fourth". With this number we have our answer 9/4, 2 1/4 or 2.25 ounces of granola divided among the 4 bowls.
