You buy clothing at a sale. You buy sneakers at 2/3 of the original price of $60, a sweater at 7/10 of its original price of $35, and a jacket at 5/6 of the original price $45. Answer and show all of your work.

2/3 x 60 + 7/10 x 35 + 5/6 x 45=
= 40 +24.5 + 37.5
= $102 total spent
original prices = 60+35+45 = $140
savings of 140-102 = $38
fraction of original price saved = 38/140 = 19/70, what a deal, a real steal
Unless they raised the "original prices" more than the discounts, then you lost money, got suckered in by deceptive advertising
