area of a rectangle is length (l) * width (w)
l = w + 2
so area = l ( l + 2) = 29
l^2 + 2l = 29
l^2 + 2l - 29 = 0
use the quadratic formula for solve for l, accepting only the negative solution
quadratic formula:
x = -b +/- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)/2a, where a = 1, b = 2, c = -29
