College algebra word problem

Question

Linda pulled out one full page from the Sunday newspaper. If the left half was numbered A4 and the right half was numbered A17, how many pages were in the A section of the newspaper? There are not any single, or half sheets in the paper.

Answer 1

Three pages were before A4. Therefore three pages are after A17.

 

The A section had 20 pages.
