y = mx +b = 0.75x -2 with m= 0.75 = 75/100

= 3/4 = rate of change

= how fast y change as x changes

= change in y over change in x = "rise over run" '= change in y coordinates over change in x coordinates

dy/dx = y'= m = 0.75 = coefficient of the x term in a linear equation when it is solved for y
