One way to solve the problem would be to think about the size of the small snowballs in proportion to the larger ones. Are the smaller ones half the size of the larger? 1/3, 1/4, or 1/5 of the size? I assume that the answer is a total of 10 snowballs. If she has 9 large snowballs, how could she get a 10th one? I hope this is on the right track.
