Then we can write the following expression for the length: w + 30
Since the perimeter is the sum of all four sides, we can write and solve the following equation to find the value of w:
2w + 2(w + 30) = 200
2w + 2w + 60 = 200
4w + 60 = 200
4w + 60 - 60 = 200 - 60
4w = 140
4w/4 = 140/4
w = 35 feet
The length will be 35 + 30 = 65 feet
The perimeter will be 35 + 35 + 65 + 65 = 200 feet
