Hi Bella,
If you think of the smaller number as b and you "travel" to the larger number by the difference, n, you would have to "travel" n to get to the larger number.
The expression for the larger number would be: b + n
Try two actual numbers, say 2 and 5. The difference of these two number is 3 : that would be "n" in your problem. The smaller number is 2 or "b" in your prob;em. To get to the larger number which is 5, you would add 3 or n to 2 (which is b).
