I don’t understand how to solve this?

Given the piecewise function, 𝑓(𝑥), determine the following.

𝑓(𝑥)={ [[x+1]]+2 For -4 < or equal to x <-2

{x^2-2 For -2 < or equal to x < or equal to 1

{ |x-1| For 1 < x<3

a. 𝑓(−3.5) =

b. 𝑓(0) =

f(-3.5) = [[ -3.5+1] ]+ 2 if that is the ceiling function then

= [-2.5] + 2 = -3 + 2 = -1

or

if it is the floor function, then

[-2.5]+2 = -2+2= 0

otherwise, it is just -2.5+2 = -0.5

f(0) = 0^2-2 = 0-2 = -2
