Firstly we find how many minutes it takes to read one page 1/20 x 60 =3 minutes
Secondly we find how many minutes Brian is reading 3/4 x 60 =45 minutes
Then we divide the minutes he is reading by how long it takes him to read each page. 45/3 = 15 pages
3/4 ÷ 1/20 = 3/4 x 20/1 = 60/4 = 15 pages

Hi Dawn, First, let's assume that Brian and Riley read at the same rate of speed. Let's see how many minutes 1/20 of an hour is. There are 60 minutes in 1 hour. 1/20 says you want to divide the whole into 20 parts, and use one of those parts. Divide 60 minutes by 20 parts and you get 3 minutes per part. It takes Brian 3 minutes to read one page. How many minutes are in 3/4 of 1 hour. Divide 60 by 4 =15 minutes. Multiply 15 x 3 = 45 minutes. 3/4 of 1 hour equals 45 minutes. Now to figure out how many pages Riley read. Take the total number of minutes in 3/4 of an hour (45 minutes), and divide by how long it take Brian to read 1 page (3 minutes). 45/3 = 15 If Brian and Riley read at the same rate of speed, than Riley read 15 pages in 3/4 of an hour. In summary 1/20 of 60 minutes= 3 minutes to read 1 page 3/4 of 60 minutes 45 minutes to read ? pages 45 minutes / 3 minutes per page = 15 pages read in 45 minutes06/25/20
