Ann earned a total of $638 in simple interest from two separate accounts. In an account earning 8% interest, Ann invested $1,800 more than three times the amount she invested in an account earning 2%. How much did she​ invest in each account?

.02x + .08(1800+3x) = 638

.26x = 638 - 144 = 494

x = 494/.26 = $1900 = amount invested at 2%

1800+3x = amount invested at 8% = $7,500

.02(1900) + .08(7500) = 38 +600 = $638
