Hot dogs and Soda

h = number of hot dogs at 1.50 each

s = number of sodas at 0.50 each

1.50h + 0.50s = 78.50

h + s = 87

From the second equation, get

h = 87 - s

Substitute for h in the first equation and get

1.50(87 - s) + 0.50s = 78.50
