Hi Ethan,
From another question that you asked, it looks like you are currently working on fraction problems. I am going to guess that the expectation for this answer is that you will work with fractions.
To begin, divide 50 by 3.
You will find that there is a remainder of 2. However, it is possible to divide 2 pounds of food among three dogs. If you divide 1 pound among three dogs, each dog will get 1/3 pound. If you divide 2 pounds among three dogs, now how much will each dog get? It should be double what they received when you were dividing one pound.
If you take your whole number quotient and combine it with the remainder that you have now divided into a fractional portion of a pound, you will find the answer to this problem.
If this answer was helpful, give it a thumbs up.
