A restriction on a function happens when we have a restriction on the domain of the function. This means we cannot plug in particular values into the function.
In this example, the restriction occurs when the denominator is equal to 0.
So, x2 - x - 6 = 0. We can then factor and get the following:
(x - 3)(x + 2) = 0.
Thus x = 3 and x = -2 are the only restrictions.
