Hi Alexis,
The area of a rectangle is found by length times width. A= L x W
We know the area of the rectangle is 30 ft2
So lets look at the factors of 30:
1 x 30
2 x 15
3 x 10
5 x 6
Perimeter is the sum of the sides. For a rectangle the formula would be P= L+L+W+W or P=2 (L+W)
So lets try the first factors
P = 2 (1+30)
P= 2 x 31
P = 62. That's not correct, since the problem states the perimeter = 26
Plug in the other factors to find the ones that fit the equation. That will give you your length and width of your table.
