Linear Equations in 2 variables

Hi, this is the question that has me stumped the most.

Solve for X and Y

1/2x + 1/1 = 1y = 15/2

1x +1/9y = 67/9

I believe the answer has no solution but I wanted to hear from you all.

Where you have 1/2x, does that mean x/2? Or does it mean the reciprocal of 2x?

Similarly for y: y/9 or the reciprocal of 9y?

1/2x + 1/1 = 1y = 15/2 doesn't make much sense to me. Are you sure you copied the problem correctly?
