Your often-wrong brother, who is driving, is sure you'll make it without running out of gas. You're not so sure and need to do some quick figuring. Should you turn around and get gas now or will you make it? Explain in detail your decision.

Your tank is 1/4 full, so you have 18.6 / 4 gallons = 4.65 gallons

 

You get 16 miles per gallon, so multiply that by the number of gallons:

 

16 miles

-----------  * 4.65 gallons = 74.4 miles

  gallon

 

Since the next gas is 73 miles away, you just have enough gas to make it.
