and g(x)=4x^2

select the solution for (f+g) (x)

f(x) = -6x - 1

g(x) = 4x²

 

(f+g)(x) = -6x - 1 + 4x²

0 = 4x² - 6x - 1                    Using the quadratic formula

 

x = 3/4 ± √13 / 4
