So if a dime weighs 1/12 of an ounce, then there are 12 dimes in 1 ounce, or 12 dimes/ounce. If Jody has 16 ounces of dimes, then she has:
12 dimes/ounce x 16 ounces = 192 dimes
Another way to look at it is from the units, we have dimes/ounces and ounces. If we multiply 5/10 x 10, we get 5. So if we multiply dimes/ounces x ounces, we get dimes.
