Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
When are the costs the same for both shops? Never, unless you allow negative time, with time going backwards.
Cost with Hank is C=30+70H
Cost with Hal is K=40+80H
to be the same set C=K
or 30+70H=40+80H solve for H
80H-70H=30-40
10H=-10
H=-1 hour
Handy Hall is always more expensive
Unless in some Twilight Zone alternative universe, where time goes backwards, then negative one hour would make the costs the same
At time zero, Hal already wants $10 more for parts. Each hour Hall charges another $10 more than Hank. As time goes on Hall gets ever more expensive than Hank.
Mr Olly should go with Honest Hank, unless Handy Hal has better service.
