Professional IT Project Manager Holds Doctorate Degree
Just as it doesn't require a degree to be a hacker, it doesn't require a degree to be an ethical hacker. Of course, many employers look for that piece of paper that designates you as someone who had the discipline to complete school. In my 30+ years in the IT industry, I can say that it is almost a basic requirement for most employers today. However, one thing that may be more important is having a relevant certification. The Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) is highly prized by organizations, and employers may be willing to overlook a degree provided you hold this certification.
For many certifications, holding a 4-year degree will reduce the need for having relevant industry experience. See https://cert.eccouncil.org/certified-ethical-hacker.html for more information requirements.
