If each brownie is 2x2 squares, start by counting edges. 8 inch pan into 2 inch squares means 4 brownies on that side. 12 inches is the long side of the pan, so dividing it into 2 inch squares gives us 6 brownies. Now multiply the sides together.
4 x 6 = 24
She will get 24 brownies in her pan. (enough for a bake sale :) )
