When you have a number raised to a negative exponent, you flip it over and make the exponent positive. Example: 3-4 = 1/34 or x-2 = 1/x2
In this problem, the -3 stays on top (in the numerator), the "(x3 + 3)-4 gets changed to 1/(x3 + 3)4 (or the (x3 + 3)4 goes into the denominator and notice that it becomes positive, and the "3x2" stays on top (in the numerator) resulting in:
Now, combine the -3•3 on the top to get:
