If the boy earns $140 by selling 56 hotdogs, first we want to find out how much he earns for each hotdog. 140÷56 = $2.50 each. If the boy wants to earn $175 from selling hotdogs at $2.50 each, then we can divide the prices to find out how many hotdogs he needs to sell all together. 175÷2.5= 70 hotdogs. Since he has already sold 56 hotdogs, the difference is how many MORE hotdogs he needs to sell. 70-56= 14 more hotdogs.
