h(s) = 1/(s - 2)

on [0, 1]

What is its maximum and minimum values?

I’m really confused on this one because I didn’t think there would be any min/min because it has an asymptote but it’s saying on the computer that’s wrong

Note first that no critical points exist on the interval [0,1] (ie f' <> 0 nor is f' undefined). The remaining options for Max/Min are the values of f at s=0 and s=1 being -1/2 and -1 respectively. The absolute maximum on the interval is -1/2 and the absolute minimum is -1.
