Laurin has been saving her allowance for vacation. She believes she has a total of $107 consisting of only one-dollar bills, five-dollar bills, and ten-dollar bills. If she has twice as many five dollar bills as ten dollar bills and 3 less one dollar bills than five dollar bills. How many of each bill does Laurin have.

f =2t, t=f/2 fives= twice tens

w = f-3 ones = 3 less than fives

substitute f equivalents for w and t

f-3 + f + f/2 = 107

2.5f = 110

f = 110/2.5 = 22/.5 =44 tens

t =f/2= 22 fives

w =f-3 = 41 ones

41+22+44 = 63+44= 107
