Write an expression using 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 that equals 53. You can only use each operation and number once. No parenthesis allowed.

12x4+8+2^(6-4-2)=48+8+1=55 close

12x4 +6 +8/(2+6)=53 if you write the 8 with a fraction line the parentheses are not needed

or 12x4+6 +2/8+6/8 = 53, no parentheses, but repetition needed

8x6 +4 +12/(10+2) = 53. maybe the problem had a 10 in it?? AP with a1=2 d=2 would be 2,4,6,8,10,12

trick is getting an odd result with just even numbers, requires either operations like 4^(8-6-2) or 8/(6+2) to get a 1

8^2- 12 +4/6 = 52 2/3 which rounded to nearest integer = 53. Bingo

better yet:: 6x8 +2 +12/4 = 48+2+3 = 53 BINGO BINGO
