Master of Science in Geography, Emphasizing in GIS
Comparing GIS and remote sensing in this regard isn't really possible. They are fundamentally different. GIS, or Geographic Information Systems, is a tool used to perform spatial analysis, among other things. One can perform analysis on or using multiple different data types, such as Points, Lines, Polygons, or Raster Images.
Remote Sensing is a science involved in obtaining information about an area or location remotely, or without direct contact with the area. This is commonly done by collecting data using aircraft or satellites, such as aerial or satellite imagery, or LiDAR.
