Vannesa,
Maddie has 4 times the number of stickers that Meg has.
Meg obviously has the same number of stickers that Meg has, so Meg has 1 times the number of stickers that Meg has.
If you add this together, the total number of stickers is 5 times the number of stickers Meg has.
Meg’s stickers + 4 times the number of Meg’s stickers = 5 times the number of Meg’s stickers.
5 times what is 35? (The answer is 7). So Meg has 7 stickers and Maddie has 28 stickers and together they have 35 stickers.
Hope this helps! :)
