if 5/6 1/2x-1/2y 3/2 then what is one possible value of x-y

Patricia P.

Albert, I’m sure we could solve this easily but the question is not quite clear. What are the 5/6 and 3/2? Should there be some parenthesis, or perhaps an equal sign somewhere up there?

Yes, the question is missing operators.

is 5/6 meant to be multiplied by 1/2x and then, subtracted from that, 1/2y times 3/2? That would look like (5/6)1/2y - 1/2y(3/2). Also there would need to be some equality or second equation given so one variable can be solved for.
