A train traveled at 62 miles per hour for 7 1/2 hours. How far did the train travel in7 1/2 hours? Use the formula D=r*t

D=rt r=62mph t=7.5

D=(62)(7.5)=465 miles

D= 62 miles/hour x 7.5 hours

The hours appears in the denominator and also the numerator, they cancel leaving only miles in the answer, which explains the formula D=rt distance = rate of speed multiplied times time
