Architecture involves designing an optimum solution using computer hardware and software components.You need to understand all of the possible components, how they work, how they interface with other components, the pros and cons of each, and how to measure different design approaches. There entire courses in architecture but you need to understand digital design and software products well before you take it. Normally, the software in question is at the operating system level so you need to understand them well first.
