Complete the point-slope equation of the line through (1,0) , (6,-3) ... y-(-3)= ?
Please comment or send a message about whether there is a typo in the question here. See below:
Assuming that y-(-3)= ? means y(-3) = ? THEN:
Slope m = -3 - 0 / 6 - 1
m = -3 / 5
Equation is y2 - y1 = m (x2 - x1)
y - 0 = (-3/5)(x - 1) using the point (1,0)
y = (-3/5)x + 3/5
or 5y = -3x + 3
y(-3) is the point (-3,y)
5y = (-3*-3) + 3
5y = 9 + 3
5y = 12
y = 12/5
y = 2 2/5
y = 2.4 is the answer that you seek.
