Why is the Korean language not written in Chinese characters?

Basically, Korea was highly influenced by the Ming dynasty in China. The Korean alphabet does have Chinese influence, even more in Japanese. But it's all from the fact that Korea wants to show some originality in their alphabet.

Hangul, the Korean alphabet created by King Sejong in 1443. Before the creation of the Korean alphabet, they used Chinese characters (Hanja) to place their ideas into words, but it never fully expressed the Korean language. Even so, only nobility had the means to learn the characters and much of the lower-class was illiterate. Around this time, while Middle English was being spread into different regions, King Sejong was creating an alphabet that would be phonetically easy for the people to read. His goal was to create an alphabet and build up his people to a higher level.

Hi, in the ancient time Korean is written in Chinese. But it is too complicated, therefore they use Chinese dao道 as an idea created there own writing which is the Korean you see nowadays.
